Everyone of our customers have scraps of fabric leftover from a project and so do we.  We have tons of scraps that need a new life.  So let's do something with them and give our customers some ideas to use up their fabric scraps too!

Blog Hop Time Frame

The blog hop will run January 10 - March 28.  It will be hosted on my consumer facing site The Quilting Room with Mel. Each week I will make a blog post about that week's project.  Each designer will have a link to their project, a photo of their project, and their social media.  I will also send an email blast out about the post.

Fabric Scrap Blog Hop Requirements

There will be a few requirements for the blog hop.  These are just to make sure that the big parts of the blog hop are consistent to make it easier on those who are following along.
  • The project is free the week you are featured.  How you deliver the project is up to you.  You can have it as a freebie in your shop, a lead magnet for your mailing list, or just a blog post on your site.  IT MUST BE FREE THE ENTIRE WEEK.
  • I need to information to me 1 week before your post goes live.  Everything will be organized in a Google Drive folder.  This will make it easier for everyone to grab the photos/graphics and links ahead of time.
  • You need to include links to the other projects that go live your week.
  • Follow the basic rules of human decency.  If you sign-up don't change your mind half-way through your week.  Don't leave me and your fellow designers with the bag of upset people because they can't get your project now.

FAQs

There are always a ton of questions for blog hops like this so I will try to answer as many as possible here.  If you have more you can always email me.
Do I have to do a quilt pattern?
No!  No one is expecting you to give away a full quilt pattern.  A small project like, potholders, pin cushions, etc is fine.  You could also do a quilt block and upsell to a full pattern.  Also remember this doesn't have to remain free forever, just free for the week that you are a featured designer.
Does it have to be a new project?
No! If you have a great scrap busting project out there already by all means use it.  You'll need to include the links to your other designers so take the time to refresh the post while you are adding those links.
What's in it for me?
Since we are all linking to each other, we will be building quality backlinks to each other.  If you aren't familiar with backlinks, it's a way to share your google juice with others.  Google likes to see that other websites like you.  You can use this to grow your email list, get new eyes on your shop, and have some easy social media posts by sharing your project and the others your week.  You can also share anyone's projects so if you need a quick social media post you can be a good quilty friend and share someone from the group.

How do I sign up?

You just need to head over to the Google Folder.  There is a short document with some information about photos and links to read first.  It also has the link for the sign-up spreadsheet in it.  All you need to do is add your name and email address to the date you want.  You can add all the other links later.
